Gregory opened a door at the end of yet another hallway and dipped his head. “This shall be your room, my queen. The men each have a room going down the hall from yours on each side.” He turned back from my door and pointed to another door outside my room. “I believe the wolf has already taken the second door on the right. Master Thorn is in the first door on the left.”

“I’ll take the first on her right. Alex, you’re in the second on her left,” Asher said.

“I’m going in for a shower, and then I’d like to see my sister.”

“Her room is at the end of the hall. A family suite,” Gregory informed me.

“Thank you.” I smiled, just as Ezra strolled into my room like he owned it. Gregory bowed low once more before walking back down the hall.

“Paige,” Asher called. I turned just inside the room. “Do not worry about the council for now. You have a lot still to deal with here. They don’t know where we are. You’re safe. Your people are safe—”

“You’re all safe,” I interrupted, and then bit my lip for just blurting that out.

“We are. The council can wait for now. Let us worry about things in the present.”

I didn’t like it, but I understood why he was asking me to. There were matters here needing my attention rather than worrying about bastards who didn’t know where we were. However, their time would come and soon, because I didn’t like that people were living in fear outside of these walls because of the council.

“Okay,” I whispered with a nod.

He smiled. “All right. Now, Alex will be taking a nap. After your shower, please don’t wander the halls without someone assisting you. I’ll be taking a shower too. I don’t need sleep, so please knock on my door after.”

I nodded. I wasn’t stupid; I didn’t know if my presence would be welcomed by all. Especially Thorn’s conquests. My gut burned. I would take the help when offered. “Thanks, Asher.” I glanced to Alex. “Have a good sleep.”

He tipped his chin down and looked up at me through his lashes. “Call out to me if you need anything.”

I shot him a wink before closing the door behind me. A smile crept onto my mouth as I leaned back against the door. Alex was a man I could easily fall for. Asher and Thorn were close behind him, and even though Nate drove me up the wall, I couldn’t deny my attraction for him. I couldn’t deny the pain I felt in my mind and stomach at the thought of something happening to him.

To any of them.

I quickly pushed that thought aside so it couldn’t take hold and burn me. Instead, I glanced around the room. Though, calling it a room wasn’t enough. Gregory said my sister had a family suite. This had to be one too. It was massive. A ginormous bed, bigger than any king-sized bed I’d seen, sat across the room near the windows.
